The NBI & NGF General Secretariat is competent for the administration of the two associations. Its tasks are namely (order without prioritisation):
- Operational administration of the associations (membership, contributions, adress administration, trade register, organisation of the General Meeting of Members);
- Assistance of the members for the issuing Green Cards;
- Assistance of the President and the Board members, preparation of meetings and businesses of the organs of the associations;
- Information of members and representatives as well as road traffic victims and other parties;
- Handling of complaints issued by road traffic victimes and other parties against member companies and other representatives of the NBI & NGF;
- Operation of the compensation body of the NGF and preparation of the new requests for the competent committee;
- Contact with foreign insurance bodies (Council of Bureaux, foreign insurance bureaux, guarantee funds, information centres, compensation bodies);
- Check and issuance of confirmations of cover and implementation of recourses between insurance bureaux;
- Issuance of informations concerning registration and insurance cover obtained through the federal vehicle registry database to authorised persons;
- Administration of the nominations and the contact details of the representatives of foreign insurance companies in Switzerland and of the representatives of Swiss companies abroad (Green Card Correspondents and Claims Representatives);
- Update of the data and technical support of the database of the National Information Centre.
